Hello everyone, i just had a quick question about dbz 2 super battles. I bought the pcb, and im going to be using it in my NEO GEO MVS cabinet. Now the game only requires 4 buttons and my cab has 4 buttons, but does this game require a kick harness like MK, tekken, street fighter etc? or are the kick buttons embedded in the pcb? Its made by banpresto i just cant imagine them having their own kick harness for this game.
Thank you

Yeah i know its jamma connected, but most fighting games with more than 3 buttons have extra auxiliary harnesses known as kick harnesses. Games like mortal kombat , street fighter , tekken all use them. each company makes their own. I just dont know if this dbz game uses one as it only uses 4 buttons, and i cant imgine banpresto having its own auxiliary harness for this game , as they dont make too many other games besides this.

This is the pcb i dont know if it helps. I dont see any other connectors on it for a kick harness?

I remember playing it along time ago, i know it wasnt that good, but im a huge dbz fan so its more of a collectors thing.

There's a couple pins on the standard jamma connector that aren't normally used, a few games took advantage of them. Looks like that one used the c/25 pair for button 4, time killers and bloodstorm also used d/26 for 5 buttons per player. Hopefully it's a cool game, I've never played it, but sounds like you're happy no matter what at this point. :) I'm sure you already know this but if it's going into an MVS cabinet *be careful* with the wiring, there's something that MVS uses as an audio amp (I think, will someone who knows for sure chime in? I'm too tired to search right now) on the jamma connector that if it's not done/redone right can fry a normal jamma board.

yeah your right, mvs cabs are not fully jamma compatible, you need an adapter so that uou can use jamma pcb's safely in it. basically the audio is different in the mvs because its stereo jamma is mono i believe.
im waiting for it in the mail , hopefully jamma boards is quick with shipping :/.

Okay cool, you're aware of that, scorched board averted. :) Double check and see if there are wires coming off c and 25 on the harness going to the 4th buttons in that cabinet as they're not normally wired on a jamma harness and I'm not sure which pins mvs uses for button 4. Also, double check the adapter when you get it to make sure that c/25 have traces running through the connector. It looks like there's a trace on the pin in the picture, but it's a tiny picture so it's hard to tell and some adapters won't carry that pin through because it's not normally used.

And after all the caveats, enjoy! :)
