I have one "working" unit and one not.
Question is, how hard is the steering on your's?
I've set mine as soft as it will go (all dip switches off) on the driver board and it still jerks the wheel out of my hands at times and it will not auto center after powered on and setup completes. It stays in whatever position you place it in until game starts. Powered off it centers.
I had another driver board in this unit previously but it took a good 15 seconds to setup when powered on. Now takes less than 5 seconds with different driver bd.

Just not sure which one is correct and I believe the wife is going to hate it when she plays it again with the "new" driver board in it.

I realize it's going to be hard to state whether it's a hard stear or not as it's relative to the player, but trying to get some input so I can make a determination which driver bd I need to troubleshoot.

Bump, But I did conclude that the replacement bd must be in the wrong. Placed the original back in and wife should be good although I did bump up the dip settings a bit stiffer.
Still takes a few seconds (20) to setup the steering during power up. Considering this normal for now unless I hear different from the forum.
Checking circuits in the replacement bd as I believe they are quite excessive. So far the bridge is OK, but time to wait on santa now.
Merry Xmas to all.

Follow up in case anyone else runs across this issue, although it may not be the same bad part, but posting anyway.
Ended up replacing Q1 on driver bd and problem is now corrected.
Force feedback is controllable from the dip switches once again.
Now for the CPU board. Arrrgh!
