Daytona USA DLX control problem after 10 mins of play

I recently purchased a Daytona USA Deluxe cabinet and i have a very small, but very annoying problem.

It plays like a dream, the first 10-15 minutes.
After that, something strange happens.
At first sight, nothing is wrong, but i noticed something is happening to the controls.

I can see it for example at the first track, where you have a corner you can normally take (the corner before the 'big' corner just before the start) without lifting the foot from the gas. I am able to do this flawlessly the first 10-15 minutes, after that it's impossible.
It's like the controls don't work 100% anymore, and it now gets into a drift each time i take the corner. It is not a gameplay issue but something technical.
I can also notice it in the game select screen after those 10-15 minutes, where you can make a selection for one of the 3 tracks. Normally if you have the wheel in center position, it will highlight the option you are on at that moment, but it now occasionally shifts to the one on the right, as if the steering wheel was moved to the right.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the reason for above behaviour?
I am not to familiar with the technical sides of cabinets so maybe there is something easy i could check or try after a hint from someone with experience.

Thanks in advance.

Might be worth to mention, when i turn it off for a while it works perfectly again for 10-15 mins and the same happens

Check your power supply voltages, and pot on the wheel. I had a similar problem that ended up being a bad pot. Hope that helps.

thank you for your reply.
As said i am not very technical, i will likely manage to take stuff apart and get to the pots, but how hard is it to replace them?
Is it plug and play or will it involve more technical actions (soldering etc)

Thank you for your time, much appreciated

Right with some help from Ken from irepairsega.com we figured out it very most likely MUST be the pot for input at the back of the steering column (i just can't find in the manual if it's the game BD or the Drive BD i should replace). I think Drive is for the force feedback, and Game BD would be for my steering problem, could that be correct?

I'm not to confident i am orderiring the right part since i found alot of different links

To me this looks like the one i need, could anyone who has more of a clue then i do please confirm ^^

Yes, the pot you linked to is a proper replacement for all later Sega drivers.

Getting in contact with Ken was a great place to start. He's the best.
