I have everything working on this damn thing, except for the accelerator. It seems to work just fine in test mode, and when choosing the track and transmition. Whne I get into the game mode, it will not register any type of movement on the tacometer. Kinda sucks when you cannot move forward at all. Is there a service adjustment or a switch that needs to be activated for this to work correctly during game play? Doesn't seem that the pots are bad if they work in test mode...any ideas would help as I would like to get this one finished off.

were the wires hacked at all? I had one of ours where the gas and brake wires were crossed between pots and it would either activate the brake immediately after letting off the gas or the brake would stay on and you couldn't move at all. and then suddenly, it would work again. doubt that's your problem though... you had to use the brake to make selections instead of the gas!

I always forget how to calibrate them (by that, I mean all Sega games lol)

check all of these. I think it's as easy as just pressing the pedals to the extremes and it does the rest, just make sure it's within those ranges.

Check the break pot and make sure it is not stuck enaged. People slam the break pedal and sometimes the pot gear slips past the nylon gear. This will cause what you are describing.

This game also requires a manual calibration where you have to position the pot's by hand so it triggers within the specified limits. The last ink on mecha187's post above explains the range set.

Thanks guys...that's what it was. The brake gear needs to be completely recalibrated as the plastic gears don't even really engage the teeth on the wheel of the pot.
