Daytona 2 Restoration project w/ 3 sit down cabinets

Shot = corrosion beyond repair. (Or possible to repair but not a financial price I'm willing to pay)

Can you find driver boards or how much? I have a pair of daytonas and one is working and one is not. No force feedback but plays otherwise. Not sure if any of your parts could help. I have not swapped good board from working machine into non working. Fun game, mine are linked I had to update one to BOTE that was pita but got done. We can't really play together till I figger out the force feedback. your boards controlling that may be bad too :( also that same machine plays fine but has missing fenders and trunk what not on the car, read while back something do actually with the board set and not the rom board. ah well im not giving up on her yet.

I paid $1200 for my pair and drove to georgia 7 hours or whatever couple years ago for two working Daytona USA 2. when i got there they were both on in attract mode and i did play one machine. he mentioned how the other had the motor unplugged. What a cluster fk this machine steering wheel was. was not original and had a welded spot and jacked up steering wheel on it. I have since fixed that but i'm clueless about force feedback operation on these. Also, they were each on different versions of software so they would not link!! had to upgrade as said above to battle on the edge. Felt lil slimy about the deal and my machine still not there :/

Looks worse than it is. Looks like mostly jellybean components as well so it's not a deal breaker to replace those parts if needed

i dont recommend the toilet bowl shit personally. but typically you would remove socketed chips. also, the labels will prob be toast.

You seem to know your stuff a lot more than I do. I could use some tips from you to clean out some Sega Super GT sound and force feedback boards.

No. You dont want to mess with those surface mount chips and by chance a custom. Not sure what those are. Unless youre super condfident with drag soldering and advanced soldering techniques.

When you clean you do not unsolder chips. Only unsocket unsoldered chips. Once the board can be tested, perhaps some of those chips will be bad, and you will need too. But its too early for that yet.
