I had 30 extra min, finally, yesterday after taking a sick day from work and coming out of a drug induced NyQuil coma I felt good enough to give it a try.

With info, parts and help from @braedel and using a great tutorial and additional parts list from @Contract_Pilot I have rebuilt my blown 29b power filter board.

Per rework notice from data io o am waiting on 2x 5a pico fuses to complete the upgrade and will report back once installed and see if she boots.

Newer cap config should allow fo better airflow with new fan installed and new, beefier BR from @braedel should hopefully live a lot better life on there. Will report back with updates and parts list once I'm done.

Does this work translate to the 29A? If so, I really need to do it for that thing. My 29A has become one of my more important tools in my arsenal given how much old shit I work on these days.

@Jamesv833 may know. He's done some upgrades to a 29a and he made my usb upgrade bosrd also which. I know is the same to 29a or b.

Believe it or not, I actually use my 29A on my modern windows 11 desktop using dosbox. I installed a serial card just for this thing haha.

There is a usb upgrade now and a windows based software instead of dos based promlink.

Pretty sure it will run at 19.2 also instead of 9600.

Oh really? Where can I find this software? Hopefully it supports the A model, I know the newer version of promlink doesn't. (Sorry to derail the thread a bit).
