Data East Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mike and Leo targets not working

Hi all, this is my first Pin so I very very new to it. Got this TMNT Pin and the Mike and Leo targets aren't working. Checked the wiring and the Mike has 2 green wires cut (ground?) so that may be the culprit. But Leo seems fine so not sure of they are connected? Any help would be appreciated.

They may have just broken off at the solder tab... resolder them and see if that gets the switch working. If suddenly you have other switch issues then it was intentionally removed because there is a switch matrix issue.

So you think those 2 wires could effect both the set of targets. Man I hope it wasn't intentional and it just came loose. Guy I purchased from said it was in perfect working condition and that this must have happened from the transfer lol.

The green black wire is for column 5 of the switch matrix. All of the switches in a column are daisy chained; if the chain breaks - nothing after the break will work. The switch matrix table in the manual shows all the switches in the matrix. Both Leo and Mike targets look like they are on column 5, and they must be after the break causing them not to work. Reconnect the two broken wires and you should be back in business.

When looking at the switch matrix table, also keep in mind the order the switches are listed in doesn't necessarily mean that is the order theyre wired in under the playfield. They are typically wired according to physical proximity.

Thanks a bunch guys! I'm not familiar with soldering but I really should be in this hobby haha. I'm use to crimping things but not sure how well that would even work here.

Crimping won't work here unfortunately, too much vibration. A switch tab is a perfect place to learn. Watch some videos on youtube and with practice you will have it down in no time. Invest in a decent temp controlled soldering iron. Good tools make pinball maintenance much easier.

So did my first solder ever and success. The targets for Mike and Leo now work! Thanks!
