Can anyone help with a Maverick switch issue Im working on? switch no.52 will register once in switch test mode (and thats it regardless of how many times you hit it) and a few seconds later it will register again. So its registering once every ten hits or so. I disconnected the play field and was able to replicate this right off the connectors to the board using a jumper wire and a diode. All other rows and colums work great just this one activation is flakey :( Anyone have any experience with a bussed switch system?

Diode doing bad 1n4007 for a replacement.

If it's a diode in the switch matrix area of the main board you can find the color code to the rows and the color code to the columns. For example it would read something like orange/red, orange/brown, orange/blue and so on. Find a connector with all orange wires with different stripes and start testing diodes there. I that was the row color then find the column main color with different stripes and test all of the diodes leading into that connector as well.

Cool thanks. Ill pull the board out and start testing components in that area. I was hoping there was a more defined outline of responsible parts in the manual but there wasn't.

Sorry, I had meant the diode on the switch itself.

Wow - Dejavu but a different game. Literally just went through this exact same issue.
The damn diodes solder joint on the leaf switch had cracked breaking the diode right at the edge of the solder blob so it appeared to be still attached. Definently just check the diode on that leaf switch for that drop target.

I was hoping it was on the playfiekd but I pulled connector c10 and c8 and jumpered them direct and it still won't trigger every time. All other combos work but this one so I'm leaning torward a bad chip at this point. Who does zeta/ data east pin board repair work on here :)?
