really starting not to like DE games.having problem with both LW3 and Batman ,both games have left bumber not working looking through the schematic found Q11 , I replaced, and right away burns up again, where to go next? is that a PIA problem should i replace them the 6821s?

Lots of other things I'd check before going to the PIA or the other ICs. Shorted coil, shorted diode at the coil, the 2N4401 at Q5. Maybe check the diode and bypass cap on the input side.

Have you tried to get it to work in the diagnostic mode? Might help narrow it down. Check the easy stuff first. Nothing better that finding a wire fell off or a diode came loose. I just put a game eprom in the wrong socket and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the game to boot! Spend hours on this, just the wrong socket!

Good luck.

If you have a driver transistor burn after you replaced it. Better than 90% chance your problem is on the playfield not the board.

Agreed - VERY easy to check a diode, and pretty easy to check the coil as well. As noted - sounds like playfield issues, not board issues - you're just burning up drivers because of an issue on the playfield most likely.
