I'm on pinwiki.com looking up power supply parts I should replace if voltages are low. it has one for Low +5 and suggests replacing the following parts:

Low +5v
If you have a low +5v, you'll experience game resets, especially when pressing the flippers during multiball. A 'shotgun' repair would be to replace the bridge rectifier (DB1, CM3501), C2 (100uf 25v), C1 (1000uf 25v) and TR5 (2N6057) on the power supply board.

however, I got EXTREMELY low +12 on my Jurassic Park PS board, so what all needs to be changed out to fix that, or will the parts I change for the +5 going to take care of that too?

more to come!

Don't replace anything ... yet.
Which 12V are you measuring as low? The regulated or unregulated? Where are you measuring the 12 volts at? And what value do you get? What value do you get at Testpoint 1? Testpoint 3?

I wanna say regulated, haven't done it in a month. I wrote all the voltages down on a paper... that I've lost lol. the +12 is running at about 7.8 volts, I'm a little confused as to how the game still works. I compared it to Lethal Weapon 3, and that one's about 11.9. the JP has gotten bad enough lately that it can reset at times. if you hold both flippers at the same time it makes a strange whining sound, and that's what makes the sound cut in and out. it's like it constantly resets the sound, just plays a dinosaur roar sound over and over.

it's gotten progressively worse the last couple months. last year I actually had the +5 drop out entirely on it, with the connections tight. I pulled the board and threw it back in and it worked again. so, whatever.

+5 was like a 4.9, +12 was a 7.8, and there was a -12 too, I think that was sky high. I can check it again if you want me to. the JP board has a lot of burnt solder pads on the transistors, lots of jumpers and shit there. would it be worth it to rebuild it or just replace it? there's a guy on ebay that sells DE PS boards, guaranteed to work.

what do you suggest?

"Flippers making a strange whining sound"? Bad flipper controller?

If it is the regulated +12v that is off than you only need to look at a small section of the board and not the parts you listed.
Need to take new measurements.
With meter grounded to testpoint 2 -- what do you get at:
Testpoint 1
Testpoint 3
Testpoint 4
Plus side of capacitor C14
Plus side of capacitor C4
Although 4.9V is a tad low, it is a valid output from the 5V regulstor.
Is C4 original? Put meter in AC voltage mode - measure votlage between testpoints 2 and 3.

You -might- be better off buying a used power supply ... or you may be buying somebody else's headache. However, I don't recommend buying one of the often talked about replacement boards.
