I have a Data East "Simpsons" pin that is still having an issue with the score display
(see my original post at http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=191921)

I have tried and tried to fix this but I can't seem to find the problem and correct it. (see image)

So this is what I'm thinking of doing to rectify the problem:

I can purchase a brand new (replacement) MPU board from Rottendog and I can even get it with a new processor and ROMS. My question is could there be anything else (bedsides the MPU) that might cause this problem?

I've already replaced the display (even sent it back for testing to Rottendog to make sure that it didn't have a problem)

Tested and swapped the ribbon cable, all connections to and from the main MPU and the display, reseated all chips and other connections, etc.

I appreciate anything you guys can offer, thanks.

Clays repair guide suggests to replace the R95 resistor for garbled display issues on DE's

If that doesn't work try swapping the display ROM

UPDATE - I ended-up sending my MPU and LED score unit to Huck's for repair. He was able to fix it and now it works great. Huck was great to work with and a fast turn around time.
