Can the power supply in a Valley dartboard be replaced with a switcher? Anyone know offhand what the voltage requirements are?

I've never worked on a Valley machine, but in the English Mark Darts the power supply is a super super simple linear one. It's just 5 and 12 volts, the little monitor runs off 12v. Not real high current either. You should definitely be able to use a switcher, but you might get noise in the picture on the monitor. That is, assuming, this game even has a monitor - some pictures of Valley machines I've seen online just have LED displays.

What's wrong with the original supply? Might be easier to just fix it than to wire up a switcher...

I've never worked on a Valley. I've seen pictures of them though.

Shelti took over the Valley dart line when Valley bailed out of the dart game business. I'm told their tech support department has some information and parts for the previous models made by Valley.

All the operators around here (including the one I used to work for) never owned any Valley dart games. Around here you either ran Arachnid (English Mark Darts) or Medalist machines.

I haven't even looked at it. I got a call from the guy asking if I would fix it for him and the only info I have from him is that the power supply is bad, he says no 5v. Around here
almost all you see is the Valley boards but this is the first time I've been asked to fix one.
