Have the chance to buy a stand up "Pub Time" electronic dart machine for $250. Seems to be in good shape but not all the dart board fields register a strike. I know how to repair pinball machines but know nothing about these. Are the sensors easy to fix? Can parts be purchased for this? Is this a good price for this machine?

Thanks in advance.

It is not easy to fix. In all likelihood you will either have to replace the spider or the matrix ... not easy parts to find for a dartboard that old.

I'm not suggesting it can't be done, but it won't be a simple fix unless you have access to spare parts.

What year is it? That price is "Just OK ... not a steal", especially for a semi-working machine.

$250 is way too high. I had one handed to me with a bad matrix, and I cant even give parts away, I already tried.

But if you buy it, talk to pindork, he has a brand new matrix, or at least he did a month or so ago...

Do the easy stuff first: take the target head apart and clean everything!

Clean the broken tips out of it.

Clean both sides of the rubber damper and switch matrix with a rag moistened with lighter fluid (no smoking! ). The switch matrix is delicate especially at the connectors so be careful not to flex it too much.

Check all the individual segments for cracks/splits/stuck tips that can cause the segment to bind/stick. When reassembling, be sure you know what color goes where.

Throw all the segments into a big bucket with some hot water and household spray cleaner like Simple Green or Mean Green and let soak a couple of hours. Then rinse and dry the segments. Do the same for the spider too.

After everything is thoroughly dry and the segments are good (no splits/cracks) it's time to reassemble everything and test it out.

Thanks guys. Sorry it took so long to respond. I couldn't find my post. :0
I think I will pass on this as it isn't a good deal and more importantly, may be near impossible to fix.
