I have a K7000 that has a dark picture.

Things I've done:
Cap Kit- Still Dark..
-(Tried to make flyback adjustments and no real change)
Replaced Flyback- I now have more control of the brightness and focus but no matter what I do it is still a crappy dark picture at normal settings, if I try to turn up the screen adjustment it just blows the picture out. Contrast and Brightness adjustments also just blow it out; whenI try to brighten it up with those.

Is this the tube itself? My thoughts are the tube is bad and the original flyback was worn out trying to brighten the picture.

do you have access to a rejuve??

fly couldnt hurt i suppose.. i prolly would have tried the same thing...

but im my experience if theyre still dark even after caps its usually a weak tube...

1) Do you know which version of the K7000 it is? (standard-res, medium-res, 25", 19", etc)

2) What game is it connected to?

3) Can you post a pic?

If you've got a rejuvenator, I'd definitely at least test the tube, since it does sound like a weak tube to me. I assume you've tried adjusting the color pots on the neckboard?

If even after rejuv'ing it's still dark, you can wind your own heater wire and do an extra half-turn to get the heater voltage up a little... it'll brighten it up, but probably kill your tube faster. But if it's already dying, at least you'll get some more life out of it. I'd definitely try rejuvenating before doing that though.

I'd check to see what voltages you're getting at the legs of the color drive transistors, as even a half-volt low can cause darker pictures.

Also, a lot of times there is a resistor on the neckboard that can limit the brightness if it starts losing it's value...
