Hey everyone - I have 2 DanceManiax machines. One came with 1st, 2nd, and Append Jparadise, with Append installed. I'm getting RTC issues/error 605 on it, so I went and swapped out the entire 573 for the 2nd machine's 573. That one has 2ndMix installed.

So, the problem is, I can't upgrade 2nd to Append now. I get an error (175/176) saying (in Japanese) "Since the Security Cart and PCB's Certificate numbers do not match, please turn off the machine and insert the correct security cart." This one matches the label on the PCB. When I then put in the cart with that number I get another error (121) that says that the Security cart isn't loading/interacting/working or something.

Is the game normally supposed to boot to Onboard memory/Flash rom or to the CD?
So if you flip the boot Dip switch (4) to OFF, meaning to CD, and swap out the upgrade mix disc and its security cart, shouldn't that install the upgrade?

Holding down the Test/Service buttons did noting.

Any ideas? I have all 3 manuals.

Konami had a security method with these so that you couldn't apply upgrade discs to multiple machines. the software gets mated to the 573 mainboard, so you can't transfer discs/security carts/flash cards over.

just the way of the beast I'm afraid. I really REALLY wish I had JParadise on mine btw. there was a guy on here some months back that was selling bootlegs of these that didn't require security.

i suppose what you had are 2 legit board. one with RTC error, the other is okay. say the one with RTC error is board A, the other is board B. so, you swap the board only, now with board B, you plugged in both security cart and cd (that originally used for board A) wishes to upgrade them into append. and that won't happen. because each security cart is associated with the board (even for install or upgrade).

I would recommend purchasing a fisherman's bait or another cheap 573 game and swapping the gx700 mainboard with your dead RTC gx700. You'll swap the digital IO PCB (the top board with the xilinx chips on it) onto the working gx700, which should give you a working j-paradise again.

BTW, security carts are tied to the digital IO board, not the gx700 mainboard.

totally agreed.

Oh wow, thanks everyone. And yes, everything is legit. So what exactly is the purpose of the one IC on the main board? Is that just needed to boot like with DDR?

So theoretically I can just take the mainboard from the working, 2ndmix, and swap that into the first, not-working RTC one? (or the IOs)

So the stuff I heard about holding the Test button to check and reinstall a mix are false?
