I found myself drawn to this one over and over during the course of my week in Vegas:

Godzilla on Monster Island. What a blast of a game. The thing is like 9 feet tall, comes with an upper LCD screen, LEDs, surround sound system and a rumbling seat. I lost money on pretty much every other machine I played, but somehow, I always won back some of my losses with this one. Once you hit and entered the bonus round, the game reminded me a lot of a laser disc game. Choose your path, press a button and the animation begins on the upper screen. I am sure owning one of these things would kill the magic pretty quick, but it would still look pretty sweet in a gameroom. Stock photo of the entire unit:

and yet strangely I'm still not attracted to gambling machines...

I do admit that it looks cooler than most

That looks pretty sweet. I've been planning a National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation sometime in the near future for my family so I may have to check it out. :)

That's cool as hell, I'd love to try that one out sometime. One of these days I'm going to dig out my cheap old school Godzilla boxed set and watch them again.

My 3 year old son and I watch one of the originals every week. I need to buy a few more, as the 9 or so movies in our boxed set have been viewed multiple times. I think we have:

Godzilla
Godzilla's Revenge
Kill all Monsters
GZ vs Mothra
GZ vs Monster Zero
GZ vs Gigan
GZ vs Mechagodzilla
The Terror of Mechagodzilla
King Kong vs. Godzilla

We also have:

Godzilla (1998)
Godzilla 2000
Godzilla: Final Wars
King Kong Escapes

How many lines does this one play?
Penny machine?
Nickle?

Looks awesome. Love Vegas, hate the slots... ;)

There are two side by side reels displays (you can play one or both) and I think they each have 40 lines. Its a penny machine, so minimum bet on all lines is 1 cent x 80. Its a blast to play, but if you don't hit a bonus round or 2 in the first $20, it gets a bit frustrating.

.. was in the list when I was looking for the ST one...

These new slots are really pretty and have a lot going on. That being said as far as playing them for money I'm out. Played a cool Star Wars and a couple of others and I don't understand a damn thing that is happening and then your money is gone. I'm sure this would be fun as hell at home but if I'm putting up money give me a real damn slot with reels.

I played the same setup with a Ghostbusters theme the last time I was in Vegas. It had a cool parallax 3d screen, great graphics and booming sound. Really cool until I lost $20 before I knew what was happening! I stick to video poker at the bars for free drinks. :)

I prefer the older machines with actual reels in them. For some reason I feel that the games with lcd screens are less likely to hit. My favorite slot of all time is an IGT double diamond deluxe.
I need to make another trip to vegas soon. We have alot of casinos popping up close to me but they just are not the same as vegas.

Wouldn't it be great if the Williams guys would throw us a new arcade game or pin every once in a while with all the money they are making with making slot machines? :D

Sure it isn't profitable, but it would be great.

Yeah, I hadn't been to a casino in about 6 years. Last week I was talked in to going to one of the local tribe casinos. The new style slot machines are nuts. I had my best luck on the Hangover machine, but the Dark Knight and Ghostbusters machines were insane too.

.....

I like tarzan, the monkees, pinball and many of the newer games. They do suck the money fast but are pretty fun. It def is the next best thing to the arcade.

I was in Vegas on Tues/Weds. Always interesting to see all the new machines. The new craps machines are pretty cool. I've often considered the idea of adding some gambling machines to the arcade. Probably a red/white/blue slot machine w/progressive, dealer's choice video poker, KENO and maybe a few others. In CA a machine has to be 25 years or older, and not take paper money in order to be legal here, but Craigslist is loaded with illegal machines for sale. Plus you can simply drive over to NV and all kinds of people sell them.
