Damn Punchout in Oregon for $250....

...of course if it makes you feel any better, I was in the middle of PMing you about it while on the phone with oregonarcade. He had already talked to the dude and it was sold. Too bad. At that price I expected it to go fast.

Well I appreciate the gesture. It was actually still in Corvallis too. Of course I don't know if I could have fit the damn thing into my attic, but I sure the hell would have tried. That is the first one I have seen in the area in quite awhile. Is it definitely one I would like to have in the collection.

totally, I figured it wasn't the regular ninty style, but figured at that price you wouldn't care.

now we have to wait till tomorrow to see if one of the PDX guys got it. I figure they won't chime in until it's on their driveway. :)

Read the ad
"The machine is currently in Corvallis but I will be moving it up here tomorrow so if you have any questions just drop me a line. "

He's moving it to the Portland area (Beaverton).

And from the ad - I take this as a foreginer of some sort as his English needs help ;)

Well if it really matters to you:
"Because of this the screen will not show picture right now because, as I was told by a shop, it will not energize."

I was just curious. I didn't take that to indicate him being foreign. Not typing "the" and not knowing what to say when a monitor is powered but not functional doesn't strike me as any sort of indicator, but who knows.

*ahem*

I was the lucky a-hole... (bastard, etc)

oh, and I talked him down to $225.

The guy was not foreign... nice local corvallis guy moving to portland. It was still in corvallis.. I took a half day at work to come up from eugene. I love this game.. damn.. sorry to gloat.. but damn!

Edit: shawn(sean?) I still have a centipede manual for your buddy.

Sorry guys!

Hey congrats. Its standard operating procedure around here to throw a fit when we miss a deal. Glad one of us got it though. Cool deal with the centipede manual, I'll figure out a day to get it. Was wondering though...he says that it won't save his high score? Was there a dip switch setting to save it in the high score save setup?
Thanks josh.

Oh I know its SOP to give me shit about it... its also standard for me to gloat!

Seriously though... it needs a bezel (which might be hard to find) and one monitor needs minor work... but other than that, its great.

Its one of my favorite old games, so for me its a keeper. It will go good with the rest of the nintendos (mario, super mario, dk jr, excitebike)

I mostly fix these up and sell them to support my hobby, but punchout is a keeper. not sure if I should post pics until I get the bezel though..

oh, as for the high score.. i dont know.. i thought that was part of the free play kit on that centipede, but I could be wrong...
