I won an auction for an Ameridarts machine on the other side of the country back by where my parents live. I just couldn't argue with the $.99 finish price. The guy wouldn't ship a full size cab, so I figured I'd ask my father to get it and hold it for me until the next time I was home. He agreed, but before I could get any of that rolling, the guy offered to strip the cab and ship me everything for just the actual shipping cost. Again, I just couldn't argue with that. $31 dollars in shipping later and a pcb, harness, marquee, monitor chassis, populated control panel, coin door with mechs, and power supply were on their way. Arrived today and the postal service managed to destroy the chassis board. It was packed well too, so I can't blame the seller. Oh well. Thanks to the USPS my great deal was down-graded to a good deal.

whenever possible i send a prepaid ups label. this way i can insure the package for the proper amount and i can file a claim if there is a problem. bummer but shit happens

R3LL1K probably took a closer look, discovered how futile it would be, and deleted their post. If I have some free time I might try to salvage the flyback, but I don't know if it's worth it. The neck board may live to see another day though.

I wouldn't say that was "packed properly". $31 for all that stuff means a cramped box. That board should have been wrapped individually, with spacers between it and other heavy stuff, with a box that won't crush easily.

I hope you at least paid the $3 for insurance?

Everything was bubble wrapped in multiple layers and there were some foam eggshell separators in there too. He really did a decent job. The box looked like it went through hell though. That's why I'm cursing the USPS and not him. No, he didn't insure it, so I lost out on a chassis.

I have an extra Ameridarts board that is working here somewhere, pm me if I can help...

I dunno... I think that chassis is fixable. It would be a lot of work, but that's exactly the kind of thing I would fix just for the principle of the thing.

That's exactly what happened. That's a boat load of broken traces. I previously fixed a chassis that was broken but that was one break and it wasn't in a spot with too many components. It would take a lot of time and patience to fix that one.

That is a good seller....

Figure it would take at least half an hour to break down that stuff....
