DAMN Multicaders!

That DK upright is probably better quality than an original cabinet. ;)

Would be difficult to build a complete unit like that at $400-$600 apiece.

Interesting. The screen shots are all iCade (60 in 1 turd board) but they claim they're powered by an rPi.

I'm pretty sure they sell the same cabinet in multiple configs and just use the one screen shot. You got to keep the cost low :)

I really don't like Multicades. The compromises they make are terrible - they make play hard, and the value of them (Ohhh! I have 61 games!) isn't worth the crappy compromises made.

I don't own one. Never will.

I have a multi-cade. To do it the "right way", you need to get one of those poker cabs and convert it. One really good thing about it is that the front swings down and makes one nice JAMMA test fixture.

Oh, and my Multi-Williams is one of those "high-brow" multi-cades, but they are not always frowned upon.

But to take a working complete machine and turn it into one of these is just so wrong.

The kids wanted one so I made one from scratch. A mini cab styled after Rock-Ola. The kids picked the graphic "theme". 13-inch G07, Wico 8-way, leaf switches.

That's one of the best hands-on experiences a kid can have in relation to old arcade games. great work.

For people wanting to build their own space invaders cab, I'll point out that a raspberry pi lets you play a good bunch of space shooters similar to space invaders, including Demon Attack on the Stella Atari 2600 platform. It will output to whatever resolutions you need, and there is an easy screen flip setting from the /boot/config.txt file that can be edited right from your windows computer.

Been saying I'd do this for a while. My idea was to scale the Galaga style cabinet down, 19" to 13" so 68%. 60-in-1 board, Wico, 13" monitor. Yours came out great!

step out of the 60-1 daze....
I built a 4ft tall scaled down Galaga for the local arcade. The ergonomics work well.

But you'll get much better game selection if you guys would learn to use Pi's rather than 60-1s. The emulation is better, you can customize the game selection and theme.
There are a bunch of Galaga-similar games for a multi-game setup.

Expand your minds! and now for a creepy google search image on the theme.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of the 60-in-1, it's just that I bought the board cheap, years ago, and thought this would be a good use for it. Also, it would be for kids.

It also reads:

Table top mini arcade game machines pandora box 4S with Raspberry Pi 3 for 2 player

...now how is it running a Pandora's Box 4s with Raspberry Pi 3?

:D

It's running shit... verifiable shit.
