Dallas CL - Lots of arcade games listed

I think these are from the guys that were Yesterday's Arcades. Think this is their site, too.

Tempest - this seems like the best deal.

These have been listed before.

Isn't that Yesterday's Arcades? I guess he changed his name to hide from the bad reputation? From what I have heard, I will never buy from them.

I never had any issues with them but have heard others talk of their experiences. They are no longer on ebay as yesterdaysarcades (if I remember it) but do have another id that I don't recall.

looks like their new ebay id is "garagearcadecom"

I notice on their website they have a 1981 Atari Star Wars. Must be a very early prototype LOL.

My main concern is that they are in it for the money and the "work" they do to the games actually devalues them in my book. Like one of the Tempest they kept trying to sell on ebay. You could see where they took a can of black spray paint to try and hide some imperfections. But, they didn't even mask it off or anything and got overspray where there should be none, etc. They just try to make it look better on first impression to sell it. Maybe one day I will buy something from them, but right now I would rather wait for a better source.

Yes I did work for Yesterdays Arcade with 6 other people as well as other arcade repair shops in DFW, and no I am not hiding from any one. Garagearcade.com is a new business I opened myself that I run by myself for tech's and collectors around Dallas fort worth to have a place to display their product. As well as the product I Produce.

O and thank you for pointing out the typo on star wars

I recently bought a refurbed Donkey Kong Arcade game from GarageArcade.com.

Let me state for the record that Garage Arcade did a fine job for me. I was pleased with the DK machine I got.

The customer service I experienced with them was great. I am not a rich collector or in the business, so I knew nothing much other than my own research provided me. GarageArcade was glad to hold my hand through the whole process. I emailed the owner back and forth for a good little while before I decided to commit to buy from him. He always answered my questions and also provided me with buying options that made me feel very comfortable.

The aracade game arrived well packaged and padded on a pallet. Game started right up with no issues. I have yet to find a problem with it.

From my experiences dealing with them, I could call or write with any questions or thoughts on it while they were refurbing it. The owner answers his phone when he can and returns the call when you have to leave voicemail.

I had considered buying from some people a little closer to me on the East Coast, but something really stood out about the service before the sale that sealed it for me.

I think that for the price I paid, I received a great arcade machine that looks great too.

He is truly interested in making sure you are happy with your purchase once you get it home and have been playing on it. He offers a warranty, which is more than I can say for some resellers or refurbers that I had some contact with while researching sellers online.

Let me also say that the monitor in the arcade game itself was crystal clear and it was like looking at a brand new game or something.

The price I paid was the going rate at the time from all my research. I didn't tell him what I wanted to pay, he told he what it would cost. I'll defer to him and if he wants to disclose that information, then it is not that big a deal to me.

What would you pay for that nice looking Donkey Kong in red?

The only reason why I did not say it was because it is a set up no matter what you paid their is someone out their that got it for half if not less. But I am sure it was 5 -15 years ago, and the cabinet did not work perfectly or look flawless. Their are all sorts of good buys out their and I still get them from time to time.

"farmer john has 8 arcade games in his barn that paid for them self 20++ years ago and just wants them gone"

But that does not set the market

It is only bait if your prices are out of line... ;) Funny how the technique is self regulating. If he paid $1000 for that, some people on here will come out of the woodwork complaining about price. Others will probably look at it and say nice DK, not a bad price for the condition. Some on here might have even paid more. Others still might ask where they can get one. Who knows without the price.
