Anybody ever daisy-chain multiple adapters to connect a PCB to a cabinet?

I want to put a Capcom Ghosts & Goblins PCB in my Nintendo Vs. cab. However, there is no Classic Capcom to Nintendo Adapter that I know of. However, I have a Classic Capcom to JAMMA adapter, and I have a JAMMA to Nintendo Adapter. Any reason why I shouldn't attempt to daisy-chain the adapters?

I also have a little bit of hesitation because my Capcom to JAMMA adapter is "keyed" on the a male end, but my JAMMA to Nintendo adapter is not keyed on the female end. I would assume that you would connect them with both "parts sides" facing up, but I know that when you assume things you can make an ass out of u and me.

If this is for at home, then go for it. You're introducing more points of failure, and additional chances for interference (you may see a slightly less strong video drive for example), but there is nothing inherently wrong with doing so, and it won't let out the magic smoke or anything.

Think about the first tech who called it that.

"Ah, you want to run one adapter into another eh? Oh yeahhhh, that'll work fine! And where'd you learn that from? You probably used to make little chains out of daisys, and handed them out to your football teammates!!!! Look people we got us a little Daisy Chainer over here!!!!"

If the adapters have on-board audio amps, then putting those in series might cause issues. YMMV

Yeah I think the sound would be the issue but I'll bet that's already solved by the Jamma to Nintendo adapter, if you think about it as them seperately, a Capcom classic board with a Jamma adapter on it is basically now a Jamma board, the Capcom edge connector is just pinned different.

So whatever Jamma board you plug into the Vs. cabinet, would be sending amplified Jamma audio, into the audio amp on the Vs. monitor. They've probably made a provision for this or figured out it doesn't matter on the Jamma to Vs. adapter, so I think it will work fine since basically the Capcom board will be essentially a Jamma board with the adapter.

If you were going the other way I think it would be worse but Capcom in a Vs. should be doable this way.

I don't think the Classic Capcom To JAMMA Adapter has an audio amp

The JAMMA to Nintendo adapter is a Vector Labs. I don't think this has an audio amp either.

I'll have to take a harder look when I get home. I know that I've played TMNT (JAMMA Board) in this cab and I don't remember doing anything with the audio other than maybe adjusting the volume on the Sanyo's audio amp.

Tried to do this with a Sega 16 pcb with adapter switched to a Jamma pcb. It won't work with 2 Sega 16 adapters. The main board needs to be Jamma or it won't work. You can swap if you have a Jamma board as the main pcb connected to the switcher.
