D9200 + Raiden 2, having trouble filling vertically. Getting a white line and scrunch

So I finally got my Raiden 2 + D9200 working (mostly) properly. Turns out there was a faulty trace on the PCB that has since been repaired.

Now my only other issue is trying to completely fill the screen. If the screen were oriented horizontally, it would be the bottom of the screen. If you look at the attached picture you will see a white line on the right. If I try to continue to stretch or move the image to the right, it sort of "scrunches" and creates this annoying snapping effect. I can get all other sides to fill correctly. If I fine tune it juuuust right I can get it to look OK, but it still wants to snap in and out and isn't really "fixed".

Please tell me I don't have to recap this nightmare.

EDIT: I'm sure this goes without saying around here but the lines in the middle of the screen are only visible in the photo.

Lol.. What is it with this game? I have a similar issue with Raiden2 on my 19" K7000 with the frame that can be rotated (K7601? I think); except it's the damn width that I can't adjust enough to fit the entire picture on screen (clips off the top and bottom of the game and adjusting width inductor / coil does next to jack squat).

Good luck with your quest!

Thanks, this board has been a pain in the ass since I got it. I was cursing the d9200 since day one only to find out it was the board -- now I'm not sure it's a little of both.

Is an awesome shooter though so it will be worth it to get dialed in. Even if you have to get another cab and monitor :). All three of the original Raiden series along with Viper Phase 1 are probably my favorite vertical shooters of all time. The amount of detail they crammed into those (by today's standards) lo-res CGA graphics is still something to see IMO.

There plenty of caps that go bad, so to replace every cap on these models

is a good thing.

bad connections to video interface board goes without saying.

but very important to how the chassis acts.

and depending which inputs you are using?

I test each resolution then decide what to do next,

Is the user menu the correct colors?

with no signal is the color bar pattern have the same intensities

per color?

have the caps been changed yet?

These things are things you think about on a digital models

Going by my experience I also replace the vertical ic if never been replaced before.

Because I have had it fail when the caps around it get to weak.

but caps need t be good firsts for vertical ic can work correctly.

Some caps are obvious Bad, if you look at it. like c466 a supply voltage cap for vertical ic.

anytime the caps have been replaced already, then I would not replace them again.

Need to put back what you took out not just replace the caps from any CK.

there are different version with the chassis and are posted on the side of each 9200

chassis and the same caps are not used per chassis.

I dont' have any after the fact issues because if original caps then I just put back

what I took out.

its best to evaluate the chassis for all it needs not just you want to give it.

Good Luck!

Have you tried the factory settings menu ?

Hold the "Down" and "Sel" buttons at the same time.

Sometimes helps with adjustments.

Thanks for the detailed post. I'll definitely dive back into it this weekend.

I don't mean to bump an old thread, but I finally got back on this and thought this could be useful to others that run into a similar issue.

It was the sync connection. It was not visible as a problem, but the Molex connector to the monitor had a broken terminal inside. I crimped a new terminal on and the scrunch went away. It was just a poor connection.

I doubt this will get much visibility, but the line is back... I'm at a loss. It seemingly comes and goes at random now. I'm starting to understand why the D9200 isn't a popular monitor.
