Ok so I have a d9200 that was working 100% before I let it sit for 2 months. I canged the brackets on it so it would mount in my astro city. I got the monitor placed in the cab hooked up the cga and fired it up. Nothing showed up on the sceen and the monitor made a weird noise. After unplugging the cga the noise went away but now when I try the vga I have no picture (blank black screen). The monitor powers and clicks once when i plug in the vga cable so it is syncing up just fine. The neck still glows and all cables are plugged in correctly. I removed the chassis to check for burnt components and bad caps and didnt see anything that looked amiss. I have read the forums and checked a few components with my multimeter and have so far come up empty. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

When you unplug the signal, do you get the "no signal" box on the screen?

If not, then you have a problem with the chassis.

If so, then you have a problem with the memory. You need to be able to access the menu, so you may need to try various VGA or CGA signals until you get enough of something on the screen to get the menu to pop up. Once you have a way to get to the menu, exit out, then hold DOWN and SEL at the same time. After a few seconds, the factory menu will appear. Choose RE to do a memory reset, then turn the brightness and colors up. Exit to the regular menu and adjust the picture as necessary. You should now be able to access your VGA or CGA normally again...

A "No Signal" box doesn't rule out the whole chassis, it only rules out any problems in HV. You could still have problems in signal detection/processing. We had a monitor in our Rush go out with a smoke smell and "No Signal", playing blind, the game board drove a different 9200 just fine. We had that one repaired by Happ because I hadn't started doing monitors yet, so I don't know exactly what that problem was.

So yeah, check for "No Signal" box, if you get it, hook it up to a game you KNOW works. The 9200s are smart, they'll recognize a number of different sync frequencies and resync to fit. If you don't get a picture with the known good, try both the CGA and VGA headers on the input board.

-E- I misread your post slightly modessitt, sorry. Still, a reset may or may not be enough -- the memory may actually be outright bad.

True. It's the biggest problem with this model. I have one here in the shop that I had to try all 3 signals before I got enough of an image to do the reset, and now it works fine again.

Unfortunately, they copied the problem into the Vision Pro version. A friend has one in his MAME, and he's had to reset it 4 times since I fixed it (blown inductor) 2 years ago...
