trying to get a chassis back and running, straight line down the middle abou ta 1/4 inch wide. Wider than the usual look of a failed HOT.

I have replaced all the comon failure parts as mentioned in the toruble shooting guide from wells, no improvememnt any ideas on where to look next?

thanks

Have you checked to make sure the horizontal yoke is good? Cold solder around the width coil?

I can;t really measure it well as I only have a normal meter, it mearues low ohms 1.X so it seems ok could be bad. I am scared to put my only working 9200 chassis on it or this chassis in question on my known good tube as I don;t want to create other problems.

can one damage the other? what are the chances or should i try a swap to isolate if so what would be safest, bad ? chassis into know working tube n yoke, or know good chassis into bad ? tube yoke?

Thanks

You should find 3 Ic's all the same in the horizontal section....KA3842. Check for 20vdc on pin 7 on these Ic's .....If I remember right....these are used and must be on freq. for the section to work. Hope that helps get you going.....

It appears I have a tube or Yoke problem as a working chassis has the same failure.

Grrrr

Any ideas or anyone have a yoke to sell cheap ;)
