I can't access the on screen display menu or the factory menu. All I get is "No Signal" flashing on the screen, since the monitor cable is unplugged. I'm trying to adjust the colors.

Any assistance is appreciated!

Rob

Ah, thanks Ken, that was the problem.

Now that I can adjust the colors, maybe you can help me again. The picture is very washed out; very dim colors. If I crank all of the RGB settings to 255, and turn up the brightness and contrast, I can get an OK picture, but it's still not vibrant. The colors in the OSD menus look bright, but the display colors are still muddy.

Is this just a cap kit fix?

Thanks,
Rob

Maybe a cap kit. You could try doing a Factory Menu reset then readjust. Hold down the DOWN and SEL buttons at the same time to access the Factory Menu...

That problem is IC 103 a 24c02
Have seen it several times. My first instinct in both cases was to replace the KA2500 a $35 chip but it ended up being IC103 both times.
The symptoms are as you described.... nice bright OSD but dim or no video.

I'd say your in for a tube rejuvination.....those tubes didn't hold up very well.

I was actually going to replace the EEPROM while I did the cap kit. Since the colors washed out quickly (overnight), I wasn't convinced it was a cap issue. Thanks for the confirmation!
