CXK5808's are 1k x 8 bit RAMs used on a few Capcom boards of the Ghosts 'n' Goblins era (also found on Legendary Wings and Section Z to name but two). They are also to be found on Sega's Choplifter (and no doubt other boards).

I can figure out the pinout from the Ghosts 'n' Goblins schems, but does anyone know of any equivalents or where to buy any? I've pulled all I can from parts boards over the years, but now find myself in need of a few more.

Thanks

I've never found an equivalent and when I contacted Sony for a data sheet they said they could find no record of the chip.

I looked through ChipDir this morning and they have no chip listed that is 1k x 8 except for a couple of ones by Mostek and they are 24 pin chips, not 22 pin. I gave feedback to the ChipDir folks with the info and pinout for the CXK5808 to see if they can add it to the list.

I probably have some buried in a massive box full of sheets of anti-static foam that are lined with chips that weighs about 40 pounds. Don't know when I'll ever get them all out and sorted. I need to since there are about 50 GTIA and ANTIC chips in there from Atari and a handful of RIOT chips and 6821 PIAs.

Im coming up blank on this one too. I also have several boxes of chips that are not inventoried. I will take a look when I get a chance and see if I can come up with anything. Doubtful, very doubtful.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but did anyone ever find an equivalent to the CXK5808? I've got a Gunsmoke pcb with at least one bad one although I suspect both are bad.

Or if anyone has a couple of known good ones for sale please let me know.

Easy enough to make an adapter board to use a 6116 for either a CXK5808 (22-pin 400 mil) or 2018 (24-pin 300mil)

I have tubes and tubes of high speed ones in the parts drawers here. I use them for fixing Neo Geo boards.
