I need a new piece of plexi over a control panel. Actually, im cutting a new control panel using a router trimmer bit to trace my original. I was planning on doing the same for the plexi, but I am worried.

Will a router shatter the plexi? I was going to get a pretty thin piece.. Lexan be better?

You can cut it with a router. Lexan is a bit more foolproof though and is less likely to chip.

Are you using a plunge router or table?

alright that went well. I cut the new CP from the wood first, then sandwiched lexan between the 2 wood pieces and used the trimmer bit with a plunge router, worked great!
