I recently aquired a marquee for my AVSP as well as D&D only problem their about four inches to long. What is the procedure for trimming these down?

Personally, I would tape it up on both sides (to avoid scratches) and mark where it needed to be cut (2" off each side if it doesn't mess up the art) and run it through a table saw with an abrasive/metal-cutting style blade... But hopefully someone else on here will have a better idea. I have no idea if you have access to a table saw, but that's what I would do...

If it was glass, then a glass-cutter with a straight-edge. There are some tricks to that as well...

Lay a board across it and score multiple times with a new razor blade. Sandwhich it between 2 boards and/or a board and a table then snap the bad part off. Sand any rough parts.

For the short edge of a marquee this should work really well. I've always had problems using the score/snap in the long dimension. For that I get it close enough then go to town on the belt sander.

Seems like a shame to cut it would a circular saw work thats all I have atm. Otherwise I can always use a new tool. I need it the same size as this street fighter marquee.

Your local hardware store could cut it for you as well. I did that once and they charged me next to nothing to do it.

You lucked out, cutting it down won't make it look funny!

Yeah, I'd say go with what the others are saying, scoring really good then snapping. But reinforce the edge/side that you don't want damaged...

Now Ive noticed its slightly to tall as well. Might be easier to modify the cabinet to hold the larger marquee anyone ever done anything like this?

If you use the scoring/snapping method - one thing I learned the hard way is when you think you've scored it enough, go ahead and do it twice as much as what you think is enough.

I just use my router with a formica bit.....nice smooth factory edge!
If it's glass, forget about it. That stuff is tempered....it'll just shatter.
