I know this may sound odd, but I thought I would offer my services here. I have the ability to make many things and I do custom vac forming.. Why offer it here? Simple.. there are somethings that were vac formed in ABS and also HIPS that went onto arcade game cabinets. Such as, the back trays you see for monitor necks that extend past the cabinet.

Do you have a rare one you need to have duplicated and a mold made? I can do that. I have over 15 years of making molds, sculpting and also high end costume making. How about monitor bezels.. I can do a run of those as well and make them cheap enough too. I have included a pic of some of the costumes I made. I am a professional and will treat your items (originals) as gold and no damage will be incurred at all to make a master mold. I am fair and honest too!

take a look and if you would like to start a run, please contact me!

oh snap !

that is some great stuff !

im sure there is SOMETHING to be done.

can you give an example of what the cost might be ?

Forming

Yes, a mold to make, lets say the size of a large cake pan will be around $40.00... I will not charge for the mold with a 20 piece order, done in high quality resin.. Then the parts would be on a per basis run. I can get black ABS easy here. Lets say a run of 10 would cost $10.00 each and then the mold = $140.00 .. BUT.. if you get me the 20, then the parts would 8.00 and no mold charge...

So you win either way really. I can tell you no one can match this offer unless you do a run of say 50 to 100 and pay for the mold AND materials...

i dont know, seems like making some ramps for a pinball might be good

especially for those you cant buy replacements for.
interesting...

Yes those can be done as well in acrylic and other plastics as well. Lots of possibilities... How about the Data East vader helmet topper? Bet there are a ton missing on those.. I can do those no problem at all.

would this work for remaking or rebuilding parts of the cockpit for an Air Combat 22 game?
http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=6828

I have one that I'd like to fix up some, but the problem is I've never been able to find any replacement plastic parts for the cockpit... so my project has been on hold.

I wouldn't be looking to order today or anything, but just checking my options. Might be something I could get really serious about in 6 months to a year though.

I can do those as long as I had a set to copy up yes... It would be a ton easier than to do a new set base don measurements, not to mention a ton cheaper as well..

If anyone has parts they would like to lend to be copied for forming please post away..

I would think a sinistar cockpit control panel is something that really needs to get done.. I think the seat too, but it might be a little too big..

here is an image:

SinistarCP.JPG

Sinistar controls panels usually crack around the start button and along the sides from people pushing down on the panel to get out to cabinet. So if possible beefing up thoses areas would be a plus..
The panel is V shaped attached to the cabinet.

I would think a few people would be interested. I could send my panel as a sample..

Lots of vaccum formed parts were used on arcade machines. You might consider doing the back door covers used on machines like Gorf and other midway cabarets. Im pretty sure its the same cover used on all of them and finding one without cracks is pretty tough to do.
I did some vaccum forming back in tech school. We made mini radio controlled boats. Its a cool process and its a pretty cheap way of producing parts.

There are some plastic parts on OutRun games that would probably be good candidates for this. Not sure if you can match the color, but the gray plastic piece behind the control panel is often cracked, and the gray plastic around the monitor often has cigarette burns. There was a guy on here from Europe that reproduced these parts but he wanted something crazy like $250 each for them.

I just sent you a PM about making some vacuum formed auto parts for my company. We are making a LOT of these parts right now, so if you need the work and your pricing is reasonable, I have PLENTY to keep you busy!...

-Pole Position Dash Shrouds (with or without cig burns)
-Williams and Taito Monitor Bezels (specially Taito bezels with the 3 light bulb holes, as most of them are brittle and cracked)
-Star Wars upright shrouds/bezels
-Sega Turbo/Monaco GP cockpit seats

I love all the ideas and wants! Ok, I can do all of those small parts and I can do them so that they are gorgeous, fresh plastic and I am sure they used .040, which is too thin for constant use. I can use .060 thick and it would last a lifetime.

Mr Bill, lets do it. As a nice thing I will make a mold and send you a sample back plus your master. If you like it we go forward and YOU control the run. Not me.. I am the monkey forming parts.. I will drill out all holes and make it so that you can bolt these right up and nothing needs to be done. I can pull 2 of these at a time on my table!

If anyone else wants to do runs, let me know. Send me the parts and we can do test shots and I will send them back to you. If you like it, we run and you control the run. I am offering this service to save games and not have people gouged to get the parts they need.

For a Stormtrooper suit, PM me. Yes I can do those and they are copied from a real suit used in the film I used to own. Closest you will ever come to owing the real thing!

So those that want to do runs, PM me. I will keep my costs down the best I can so we all can help each other out.

I do want to do those parts. If someone wants to donate their part/parts, PLEASE contact me. The original will not be ruined and I will be able to form some amazing parts for you with the edges trimmed and slicked so they look amazing! SHow me what you have people!

Tales From The Crypt Pinball topper.

Like this:

OK, that can be done but I would need to see the back of it as well. My gut says it is not formed, but cast. I can do that too. Lets get some pics to me and I will let you know what we can do!
