Custom SSB build/nitehawk chassis, need some imput on install
I recently bought a silver strike 2005 bowling kit, and have all the necessary parts, nitehawk computer, i/o board, security chip, control panel (waiting on jamma harness for i/o board)
I built a custom cabinet, somewhat similar to the IT showpiece cab, but alot more basic, with plans to hook it up to a wallmounted lcd. Test fired up the nitehawk hooked to the tv, it all appears to be in working order.. however my big question is about grounding.
From what I've gathered all the "negative" parts of the buttons have to be connected to each other and then to a common ground.. this is where I'm a little confused though.
Since the io board and buttons have to be grounded is it basically just grounding to each other via a ground block? and then the earth ground goes back through the io board to the nitehawk computer?
I guess what my question is do I need to have a separate earth ground for the control panel and io board, or is the ground on the io board and buttons basically just making a complete circuit thru the io board, thru the buttons and then returning to ground thru the io, back to the nitehawk and into the 3rd prong on the computers power supply?
Does any of this make sense? can anyone help me out here?
thanks in advance
