So I was bored today and made some custom instruction cards for my Gorgar. Is there even a need for these, as in I could make some for each game to sell on my site? Making Twilight ones next for a buddy of mine. They are also decals so you could stick them on, but with the paper backing they are good stiff enough to leave as is..

Also.. I am printing another set later today with translucent vinyl.. thinking about back lighting them with little LED lights wired in. But I would have to figure out how to get the LED in there because there is a metal plate in the way.. dont want to remove the metal plate really. What do you think?

I want a set for SURE!. What about a Centaur..........Could be real nice. That Gorgar is really nice though. Any way to customize the credit scores I keep my first free Ball at 200,00 for the kids. I am on board if/when you sell a set. Translucent idea is cool too for sure. Post a pic when you get that set up

oh snap! I dig it!

I might have to steal a few of my buddies ICs and make some of these. (unless you plan on doing a slew of these for all different pins).

If I can get exact sizes needed for all pins I am for sure down to make one for all of them I can. Next up as requested I am making tonight is TZ, Centaur, Bride of Pinbot, and Indiana Jones (williams)...

cool, yea I was thinking South Park and either Big Guns or Jokerz!

I like the idea of back lighting them but like others I would be hesitant to cut out the metal apron.

Here is some info on a project I started 2 months ago, not keeping it secret because if anyone figures it out please let me know. I have been talking to a company in Japan that sells 6" wide format little POS LCD's, they only play video from memory card and turn on and play the video when you stand close or sense movement.

So here is what has been happening. A friend of mine with Twilight Zone has let me use his as a test project. The idea is that when you walk up to twlight zone it plays little videos on both screens that fit into the area where the instruction cards are. The video scrolls the text down for the instructions/score and also plays random videos from the TV series, making the presentation pretty awesome when you are standing at the pin and playing or about to play. This has required us to get a new TZ apron to figure out how to mount the LCD's (if we order them), right now they are too expensive.. $150 each. Anyway, just thought I would share a fun project my buddy and I are doing, making his TZ just a tad bit cooler. When this gets done I will of course post video and pics. Maybe if I can work a deal with a company to get these mass produced I will be able to offer them for different pins/themes.

Great work Rick, you always go above and beyond. Looking forward to seeing the next designs.

not bad! definitely a lil pricey and possibly distracting tho as if you stop and start moving it would restart/reset but i like the idea.

EL Lighted paper/sheet (behind the card or printed on) would be a good idea (no cutting should be required as the 2 wires to power it should be small enough). just a thought and possibly a good amount cheaper.

That is a good idea, ill look into that. I did find a company that makes OLED screens, nearly paper thin.. would be cool for my video idea and the price was good at $60 each.. but I had to order 3000 of them (minimum). LOL

damn that is cool. You should get on this quick as all these rich pinball guys like buying bling for their machines LOL. you will make a mint!

Found a shop that sells EL sheets in different sizes. Just emailed them on pricing if I order a hundred or so. I think most instruction cards are about the same size.

Here is the site to get the EL sheets.

EL sheets

you can print/laminate color over those sheets so they will look bad ass when lit :D

You mean print directly on them? I just printed a set of Gorgar cards on translucent vinyl (same as used on marquees or soda machines) so when I get two of these I will be ready to try it out.

A great idea for the oleds would be if someone could tap into the dmd display and display that info on the oled sheet in the instruction card area. That would be very handy as well as incredibly cool.

I think other MFGs just print directly onto the EL paper.

The whole idea came to me from an old PC I had. It had a front graphic that lit up that you could change with other graphics that you purchased. IIRC it was a textured type surface (hard plastic/laminate) that was printed/dyed/screened on.

Wish I could be more help on this. the translucent vinyl will probably be perfect and much easier to do :D
