So, I am currently in the process of restoring a Mario Bros. Widebody that had been converted to a Skins Golf back to Mario Bros (buying parts atm) and I got to thinking about painting the cab. I could totally paint the cab the correct original color scheme of orange sides & black front but that's not very unique.
I was thinking about painting a brick pattern on the sides. Basically, I'd give it a base coat of white, tape off the mortar lines/pattern, and paint over it with red; specifically, the red from a DK red cab. Anyone have any thoughts on this? What I am concerned with is if this will look stupid without any shading or detail-work done to the bricks & mortar to give the scheme depth and realism.
I'll be totally honest, I am not that great of a painter so doing any significant detail work would be beyond my abilities but I can handle a two-tone pattern scheme.

After a google search I realized I am not the first person to think about doing this (though that person was doing it to a DK cab converted to Mario) but I still like the idea despite that. I guess I'm not as original as I thought lol.
