I like the slide out control panel part of it.My test bench is small and that would be a cool way to keep controls out of the way until needed.I'm working on a quick connect type set up for different harnesses now and this never crossed my mind.Current test controls are mounted to a piece of plexi,so this would be cool.

Is it this machine that you were having problems with the Happ joysticks or actual arcade hardware?

I'm into dedicated cabs but at least it looks functional and once you slide the control panel under the desk top it probably just looks like a computer in anyone's house. Not for me but a million times better than the steam punk one that looks nearly unplayable. I see this as a compromise. Allowing arcade style controls to be used in a home setting without the full size cab.

problem with the happ joysticks only, and only for fighting games, they dont work good for me like the other sticks I had before.
for all other games are fine

Good job. You have to remember this site is sort of the wrong audience. You'd probably get a warmer reception if you were to adapt your set-up for say a Dig-Dug cab or a Donkey Kong Machine. A lot of the guys around here prefer the classic look, and love to see older machines retro-fitted with modern hardware. Just a tip.

yes I can see that, but thats all I can do at the moment,I cant find an old cab near me without being ultra expensive neither I am good at woodwork to make a real cab from scratch.
I hope you can understand that

Hey guys! I don't see anything in that that looks bad! He wasn't making an arcade cabinet, it is a means for him to enjoy arcade games with authentic controls! What he did looks tasteful considering the resources available to him. I personally think it is a great idea, and not much different than the currents cabinets you see today in terms of layout it is similar to a Vewlix cabinet.

Need I remind you of the Poor Stargate cabinet that was destroyed to make a hideous MAME cabinet?

Seems very functional, and not way over the top... I'd certainly play that. IMO I'd ditch the TV and go for a real VGA monitor though (largest CRT you can find)... TVs look pretty crappy, since their inputs are low quality compared to RGB.

Check out this unfortunate Food Fight. Completely restorable. But instead. It was sanded down to
the bare wood and hacked to mame-hell.

No comment.Isn't there a unwritten rule somewhere saying that you can make one custom arcade cab that you'll be embarassed about in the future? :31:

I agree, and at least he plays the classics. Maybe there just aren't that may orginal cabinet to be had in Greece? Good job, enjoy your Arcade machine.
