Hey Guys,

I'm pretty new to this hobby. I previously owned a Namco 20 year Reunion cocktail, and I recently picked up a DK.

I was just curious about current consumption of the vintage games. I know these old games can be pretty power hungry, I was wondering if any of you that have large collections of games (say 10+) have ever thrown breakers in your home due to requiring too much current?

According to my math (which is not always accurate), a 200W 19" monitor times 10 = 2000Watts = 16.67A @ 120VAC, then add in a stereo, maybe a TV, some Neon lighting... Seems like you would quickly be asking too much of a standard 15-20A breaker.

I'm just curious.

Turn them on one at a time. I have never flipped a breaker because of too many games turned on, and I used to have 13 19" vids, 2 27" vids and 2 pinball machines all on a 10 amp breaker.

They use a lot of current at power on, but then draw far less.

get a kill-a-watt and it'll tell you what current you're drawing. They're 20 bucks or less.

I've seen what can happen if you overload your circuits and it wasn't pretty.

my 5 games draw 10 amps roughly. I wouldn't load a circuit more than 75%.
