I've had several requests for a list of titles currently in the museum. So here it is. I decided to start a new thread rather than bury it on page 8 or 9 of the last one where no one will see it.

I'm also going to include notes in parenthesis if something has gone wrong since I placed a game in the museum. I'll try to edit this post from time to time and keep things updated. That way any of you who wish to visit should know what to expect.

Journey

That's where things are at currently. It's frustrating to see several games already developing problems after all the work I put into them. But then after sitting in a warehouse for 20 years, you have to expect them to balk a bit at being put into service abruptly. I'm going to try to stay on top of the repairs the best I can while trying to earn a living.

I have plenty of other games to choose from. I chose these based on several factors: physical condition, working condition, popularity, attractiveness, personal bias, size, etc.

As I mentioned in my last post, I am hoping this is a several-phase project. Future phases will add square footage and 1) more pinball machines, 2) next-generation classics like MK, SF2, KI, Cyberball, etc...late 80s/early 90s classics, 3) a few newer games for kids who can't dig the classics, and 4) who knows? whatever will bring in the most people and money frankly.

I welcome your comments and / or suggestions. Thanks for all the support and encouragement you guys have already given me. I know of several of you who are planning trips to visit shortly. I really appreciate that. I know this is going to get off to a slow start as I've yet to do any marketing. So every little bit you guys can do is a big help.

And if any of you want to fix some boards for me...I'd be thrilled!

John, that's a really nice selection of games you have there. Be proud of that for sure. Don't get too worked up if a few break down every now and then, though! Its bound to happen. Keeping that many old games working is a challenge for sure. Good luck with it all!

Thanks for the encouragement, GorfChampion. Yeah, I guess I'm in for some work trying to keep all these up and running. I just had a good repair session and fixed about 6 of them. Just a few to go now.....

Looking nice!

Tip on your Venture sound problem...I find the intermittent sound to be rather common on Exidy Venture boards.

Very often, you need only replace the sound pot to fix the problem.

Not guaranteed, but worth a try...pot is cheap and takes about 30 seconds to replace :) .

Good luck!

This is good to know... Have an extra PCB and I believe is version 6 w/ sound problem... Going to order a POT for it!

made the trip yesterday with a couple friends, just got home today. good stuff, the games are in great shape. played for a couple hours and did some nature hiking at funks grove, theres some big old trees out there! if anyone heads down there, dont eat the buffet at the dixie truck stop. that was one of the lousiest buffets i ever had. other than that the trip was great!

Man... that is a great list of games there! If I'm ever out that way to pick up a game, I think I'll get a hotel and stay for a day just to play around. Maybe take the kids and make a little mini-vacation out of it.

WOW...very impressive collection you have there. i'm going to have to make the drive down from chicago one of there days soon.

cheers,

jj

Thanks guys, I'd love to have you visit.

When you're here, look me up and I'd be happy to take you through the warehouse (if you want) to see the other thousand games waiting for their place in the museum.

John

Thanks for all your hard work.
Illinois is the best place for a museum of this kind.
The area represents the best of the best.

I have some of the gottlieb/mylstar prototype games/boards
Should we be able to work something out, this is the place I'd rather see them.
Thanks again

man...... this oct when I head down to hamilton,il im gonna stop. 5x I have passed because I was with non arcade guys who were not interested.. this time they can all wait in the truck!!!

yeah, this place is great! took a couple friends and went down there late last year, well worth the drive. we got a hotel room and took a nature walk at funks grove while there, which i would recommend to anyone making the trip. also, stay away from the dixie truckstop diner. one of the worst sunday morning buffets i have had in my life! theres decent sized cities to the north and a college town to the south with cheaper motels and lots of eating options. theres also the option of checking out part of the original route 66 if you feel like it.
