Does anyone know how much current the midway mcr boards pull for the 5 volt supplies (total)? I want to buy a linear power supply. Arcade shop recommends are 15 amps switching supply (have one already and it introduces way to much noise into the speakers). I found a linear low profile unit but cant fit the 15 amp model in my bartop. I need one that is smaller. I have tried multiple methods to reduce the noise with no luck. I am ok with spending a bit on a linear if I can get one that fits.

Thanks

I can't comment specifically for that board set, but the highest I've run into so far has been around 4A on the +5V. I would suspect that the MCR is probably close to that. Even if it's higher, it's probably not going to be that much higher and 15A is more than enough.

you have to cap the Dual Amp board, and replace the pins and plugs. I have zero issues with Arcadeshop switcher adapters with MCR games. I don't know why people keep ignoring my advice about the amp board and insist the switchers are the problem.

I will take your advice. I just have not been advised to try this. You say re-cap the dual amp (not add a 4700 uF cap across the line). I have new plugs etc. I will try right now as I have these caps readily available. THANKS! I will update with results

If under 10 amps I can use my fluke to measure. Fluke is fused at 10 amps

New caps installed. No change

I have measured the current. Bounces a little but does not exceed 4.5 amps. The 12 volt does not go above 1.2 amps. I can easily fit a a linear power supply of this type into the cabinet.
