Nice! I was hoping more for a leather seat from a Mustang etc for mine. This thing was $60 and it's tough as nails, single piece injection, you could throw it off a mountain top and it would be fine.

Yeah but a free seat also includes cig burns, and, stains from where @jawhn got a large Starbucks and then hit gridlockYeah, it would be a junkyard/FB Marketplace/Free on Curb seat if I do it. Measured the base, which is 14" wide, unfortunately vehicle seats appear to need 17"-18" for the rails....Hmm

Good info, Thanks. Just curious, how will it not accommodate some people if i use an automotive seat?At that rate you can buy a console gaming race seat and go from there too.
I used a racing bucket from Summit ala @vintagegamer and @Griffin suggestions to build a completely missing seat assembly for a Cruis'n machine I had for a bit.
It worked great and was bombproof.
Won't be cheap though.
The seat and slide rail set cost some $$ but it really was the only way to do it and have it be functional for various size people.
An extra plate of good 3/4" cabinet plywood would be a more than adequate base for the slide rails if it sitting on top of a good box.
Could do the same with a real car seat I'm sure.
Anything else and you are being so cheap you cost yourself money and you'll still wind up with a half-assed result that sucks to use and won't accomodate many people.
Don't discount the idea of a gaming chair... they are generally comfy so todays youngsters don't whine about all day binge gaming sessions hurting their backsides. Some of them have speakers built in...but the Rush ones have three speakers that add to the fun of the game.
I'll just continue to hope a replacement one materializes.
and an inexpensive seat slider from a boat shop or Scamazon shouldn't be too hard to adapt in place of the typical rolly wheeled spinny chair base common to gaming and/or office chairs.Yeah, it would be a junkyard/FB Marketplace/Free on Curb seat if I do it.
