Found this in a cabinet at work a while back... borrowed it to get it scanned. ... I think the bossman probably wants it, so I need to get that back now that I have it scanned....

...

ANYWHO.

Just did a quick pass cleaning up the scan and redoing the... what do you call it, stippling (? newsprint look) on the gloves.

Does anyone have a collection of these by any chance? Wouldn't mind seeing some more that were used in commercial settings.

I dont have any stickers, but I printed out several of these and put them in full-page binder sheets with a reusable adhesive on the back and I stick them on the bezel. Right now I have them hanging up on my GORF, Spy Hunter, Popeye, and most recently Pole Position. Kinda sucks, because thats nearly half of the room :p

They should've sent pages of those things out with Pole Positions.

I think I want to do the same thing as what you have, where they're on reusable vinyl instead of stickers. Luckily, I don't need more than a couple of them right now.

I had an idea from a video I saw recently and I just did a quick throw-together. I think its funny. Unfortunately, the forums scaled the image sorta small. Its supposed to be full page.

Couldn't sleep so I "finished" it up.

Some browsers don't seem to like some PNG files, but there is transparency around the rounded corners.

Original size was 4"x2" if you want to print it out. Took a loop to the gloves and saw that it was just every other pixel filled in and not a newsprint type pattern, so I fixed that up... not sure how that'll print out.

It think there's a little more work to be done with the right hand glove where it meets his... hip? I think that's supposed to be a hip... but whatever... sleep time. If anyone body wants me to fix that, lemme know... it's good enough for me for now since I'm finally starting to get tired.

That is a nice image. I have a few that I don't get to use very often. (should that be a :( or a :), I'm ).

The dots are either called halftoning or screening in black and white printing or dithering for color. It is used to create a blending of colors to make it look like there are more colors than are really used.

Either way, nice cleanup.

Depending on cost I might be interested in a few, Zud. I like Scucci's as well. Maybe he could run some of both??? Let us know!

The gloves no longer match. One is Pac colored.

They're both showing up orange here... are you looking at the picture fullsized or are you talking about when you print it out?

Is anyone else seeing different colored gloves?

Could be... when it's scaling them it might be removing every other pixel and having one glove look red and the other yellow?

The should both look orange.

When you get home check on your computer to make sure... it's showing up fine here, but you never know.

Must be, I can load the image on it's own in Firefox and scale it up and down. Smaller and the gloves go a straight flat orange to almost red the smaller you go, up and they're full on yellow then flat orange even larger.

Must be a dithering effect for printing. At a certain size, you can even get the gloves to appear like a checkerboard.

Well... crap... should I leave them dithered or color them flat orange? I just tried to make it look as exactly like the original as possible.

Have you printed one out at actual size? I think with todays printers, you might wind up seeing the individual dots of color or winding up with the pattern changes we see on our screens depending on the printed size.

Older printers used that to create a color not in it's palette, by blending 2 that were. Dithering.
