Cuphead Arcade Build

Hey there!

I recently finished my Cuphead Arcade Machine build, and made a little Video documenting it's process. I believe the entire series is 5 Videos long.

If you were at Free Play Florida this year, you may have seen it there.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhi85lFq6w4&t=

This is currently in an Arcade I co-own in Tallahassee called Flippin' Great Pinball. If you're ever in town, stop by and give it a play!

All dumb thread crapping aside, this came out great!

Hey, if you can make a two player game out of a Missile Command Cabaret, then you can make one out of a Stargate easy!

:D

Dude. It's his cabinet. When you build one, you can make yours exactly the way you described.

Geez, I never understand the negative Nancy's on her pissing all over somebody else fun.

OP, awesome build. You actually made me go get an Xbox just so I could try this game...I never heard of it! Ha. It's so cool!

GREAT build!

Yeah its his cabinet.. and even i think cup head is cool but..
I am also picking up the vibe that he uses that rented space to pump out multicade converted cabs.
he has an aweful lot of empty cabs, 19" computer flatscreens , zippy sticks everywhere.
and makes his own custom art on the cheap.

I saw this at Freeplay Fl as well and a lot of people were playing it all weekend there, although I'm not a big fan of conversions this one turned out great.

Well then, if that's the case.....that wouldn't be cool. I'd hope that isn't the case here.

Seriously though....In regard to flipping real cabs into 60n1s....I don't know why people use real cabinets for those.....it really is ridiculous how easy it is to scratch build a shitty midway cab and put the iCade in one of those.

There was a guy here in Denver who used to make them with mdf and 1x2s....slap latex paint and fathead Peyton Manning's and Russel Wilson's on them and post them all over CL for $1800. Haven't seen one of those ads in a couple years....I think even normal people eventually realized they were piles of shit.

I think we'll done, 60 in 1s in scratch built cabs have their place....but using legit cabs not for personal use but for quick for resale....that's a shame and a good reason why KLOV exists to combat those guys.

Anyways, my .02.

i dabble with scratch builds and keep the price tag $500 or less.

I wish I had the time to dabble in that!

I live near FSU which does surplus auctions, so they get rid of a lot of things cheap, including tools, electronics, etc...( I got a pallet of various sized Dell LCD monitors for about $50) I currently have one Empty Ms. Pac cab with plans to put it back to a Ms. Pac, as well as some empty Nintendo cabs that will be converted to a dedicated Castlevania Vs. and DK3. The all white Ms. Pac was given to me by a guy who parted his Ms. Pac out after the monitor died, and didn't want to smash / burn the cab.

I picked up the monitors as they were CHEAP and I do a lot of repairs from folks who HAVE bought the multicades from people and their Dell monitor's have died. (I've probably swapped out about 5 over the last year).

As for the Zippys just laying around, they were laying around until I put them into the Cuphead! I don't make the art, but have a friend who designed the Cuphead Artwork and Printed it out for me.

You can think what you'd like, but I am not one of the Craigslist spammers pumping out 60-1s.

Yes, it is a Defender cab.....that can EASILY be changed back to a defender if the OP decides....no harm done. It's even painted the right color. No different than all the KLOV members here who have a Fix It Felix, JR in their collection.

Again, when you build yours you can use whatever cab and screen you want.

I actually made a two player six button layout just like that with a willams cab....and two grown men play just fine. Just stating the facts, bud.

You are absolutely right. BUT, when one decides to post their cabinet pics, I think it is fair to state that not everyone will like it. And that's ok. If we were only allowed to post when when agree or like something, there wouldn't be any real conversations. The OP wasn't personally attacked, just someone disagreed with the direction of the project. Again, that's ok. We're all big boys here and don't need ours hands held.

That said, I do agree that the cabinet would be better suited in a Dynamo, and for sure, I would want Happ buttons. The sideart is done very nicely, but a game like that almost begs for a full sideart stencil or a nice silk screen full art like Dragon's Lair. Overall, nice build, very clean.
