Hey there!

I recently finished my Cuphead Arcade Machine build, and made a little Video documenting it's process. I believe the entire series is 5 Videos long.

If you were at Free Play Florida this year, you may have seen it there.

This is currently in an Arcade I co-own in Tallahassee called Flippin' Great Pinball. If you're ever in town, stop by and give it a play!

Thanks for documenting and sharing. I'll be watching these in earnest. Not only is the gameplay great (difficulty:hard), but the artwork and sound are amazing. This game begs to be in an upright.

T...Thanks?

Japanese layouts are more comfortable (For me ) and the cab isn't really that crowded for 2 adults to play on. As far as cab choice goes, it's what I had. Golden Tee would be a great choice though!

Not sure what a Canadian button layout would even be......Square buttons? :)

As far as completing the game, a few folks have gone all the way through at the arcade, and kids seem to really enjoy it. The game is challenging, but not THAT hard.

Also won an award at Free Play Florida!

Thanks for watching! It took a little bit to get used to playing on stick and buttons, but once you are used to it, it's AWESOME! A local friend did all of the art for me, and I think it came out GREAT!

I skimmed the vid you posted but never saw a finished product how about a pic of the finished cab?

You picked a bad choice for a cabinet. It's designed for one person...not two. The game is hard. It's not a little kid title. The button layout isn't the best choice either. I don't understand why people use the Japanese button layout. I thinks it's a Canadian title. You aren't playing Street Fighter V. I would have chosen an American button layout for this title. You're better off with a dynamo or a Golden Tee cabinet. The Golden tee cabs are huge and will fit a 27 inch display nicely. People give them away all the time.

Dude. It's his cabinet. When you build one, you can make yours exactly the way you described.

Geez, I never understand the negative Nancy's on her pissing all over somebody else fun.

OP, awesome build. You actually made me go get an Xbox just so I could try this game...I never heard of it! Ha. It's so cool!

GREAT build!

I want to see these made!

VERY nice build. As someone that helps do a lot of custom builds, I know how much work went into this. It feels like a game we should build for ourselves, in fact!

I just watched all 5 videos...loved it! Great idea for a build , the art was great. You rolled with your mistakes and any challenges that came up and got it to Free Play Florida and won an award!
The videos are a nice watch for sure. It's great seeing a brand new game birthed.

I often imagined making a cuphead cab since the game was released. You nailed it with the marquee and side art!! Those were the exact art pieces I imagined I would use if I was to build a Cuphead cab. Well Done!!

Thanks again for the kind words! I know the build isn't everyone's cup of tea, but so far it has been a big hit in our arcade.

I have been tempted to put a black and white monitor in there for fun, but the game is too beautiful to take away it's use of colors. I originally was going to use a 28" LED monitor, but it was about .5 of an inch too wide so I went with a 24" LED.

My latest videos are going to cover an odd little cab I just acquired. :)

The build is pretty neat. I actually thought it would be cool to do a CRT black/white TV or black/white monitor version in a cabinet themed more towards the time period. What it would have looked like if they had video gaming in the 30s. Complete custom cabinet. I can think of so many cool themes. Control panel would be tricky, you would probably need custom parts to pull off the look. Perhaps even a tube amplification setup and alnico magnet drivers. It would literally be like playing a 30s cartoon.

I saw and played this machine at Freeplay Florida. Loved the way it came out and there is plenty of space for two people to play.

This is not an Xbox one forum or a steam forum. I see a converted Defender. Are my comments really a surprise? I'm for a good conversion BUT with select cabinets. The thing is too small. How much action can you really see with that display? You need a larger screen at a minimum. The game deserves it. It's an amazing game. I wasn't trying to be negative. I was stating the facts bud. I don't believe two full grown men can play that game in that cab. No way.

Yes, it is a Defender cab.....that can EASILY be changed back to a defender if the OP decides....no harm done. It's even painted the right color. No different than all the KLOV members here who have a Fix It Felix, JR in their collection.

Again, when you build yours you can use whatever cab and screen you want.

I actually made a two player six button layout just like that with a willams cab....and two grown men play just fine. Just stating the facts, bud.

Cool idea with the black and white.

Man the more and more I see this project and the others like it, I want to build one. Such a cool game....with such cool artwork!
