Here is goes...I picked up a CC project that was playing blind due to a dead G07... I rebuilt the monitor, rebuilt the tb and marquee light and fired her up last night...When the game came on the audio was garbled and humming, so I shut her down.(Audio used to work perfect) Turned her back on and the audio was working, but extremely faint (Vol pot did nothing), shut her down. Then unplugged all plugs on the ARII and game board, pulled both pcbs, re installed, checked fuses, and powered up....loud humming with garbled audio was back. So, the only thing I did to this after fixing the marquee light(Ballast, ignighter, and bulb) was plug in the originally unplugged right speaker)...I also unplugged the previous unplugged speaker, but no change... So, any ideas?

Thanks..

Do I just need a new(Well known working) ARII, or rebuild mine with Bob's kit? Or would it be something else?

Seems odd that the ARII would be working and then not...when you really did nothing to influence it. That being said, it certainly wouldn't hurt to rebuild it as it probably needs it and would rule it out as a problem.

Nothing is odd if my hands have touched it...sigh.... This cab was sitting in a dirt floor unheated metal outbuilding for years before I saved it, so it may have just took a little time to fail...

Thanks!

Thanks but..... Its not the ArII (Another member hooked me up, and mine tested fine and the new one does nothing different), its not "Big Blue"(Replaced), bridge rec seems fine...All contacts cleaned, again, inside cage and out, molex connections filed, all wiring checked, volume pot replaced, fuses checked.... Begin beer consumption :)

Well, if your power is good and clean, the ARII is confirmed to not be the problem, the wiring is good, and the speakers & audio pot are good, then...

It must be on the PCB, I suppose. There's not too much audio circuitry there. The LM324 seems like a candidate for consideration.

Where would this puppy be located? I scanned the pcb and I don't see it? (I could look at the schematic, but I would get the same result attempting to read German)

Es ist nicht allzu schwer. I always highly recommend everyone download and look at the schematics. Sure you won'd understand everything there (neither do I), but you certainly won't learn anything about it by not looking at it.

On Sheet 8B of them, there's a block convienently labeled "Audio Output." In it you'll see four triangles with the label below them "LM324." Inside of those triangles, there's a letter/number code which indicates the PCB grid location of that chip.

Viel Spaß.

Crystal Castles rocks! I don't have any experience to help with the pcb repair, but it's awesome that you saved the game even if it'll take time to get it fully running. :)

Thanks.... I'm going to use my stellar soldering skills today and swap out that LM324 with a new socketed one and cross my fingers! O, and since we all love pics, here is one :)

**Fixed!** I replaced the LM324 today, and the audio is now crisp and clear!

Thanks guys...
