I just got a crypt killer PCB. In sad shape, but it works (so far).

I have happ45s and I can't figure out how to set it to off screen reload. Any one know?

Anyone know where I could find a manual?

Thanks!

don't you just pump the shotgun to reload?

He has generic Happ guns.

The manual seems to elude the online world and I have never actually seen one running on Happ guns -- It may be a ploy from Konami to cash in on custom parts, namely the shotguns.

I seem to recall another Konami title, TOTAL VICE, also using custom guns (with little speakers embedded in them to source the sound of the gun firing).

You might be trying to light a cigar with a chicken egg.
However, the good news is the shotgun just uses a simple switch.
You could mount a tiny switch in your Happ gun and fish the wire through the hose, utilizing the ground off the trigger switch. OR, grab a cheap footpedal control to create a unique but workable situation (for home use).

My CarnEvil had Happ .45s when I first got it and it was set to shoot offscreen to reload. I finally restored it to the original shottys but I left the shoot offscreen enabled since it is engraved in a lot of arcade shooters fan's heads. My CarnEvil had a couple of buttons inside the coin door to access the diagnostics screen. Under Adjustments, there was the otpion to enable the offscreen reload. I have never had a Crypt Killer but this might help. Look to see if yours has adjustment button inside the coin door. Otherwise, it may be a dip switch setting.

I checked the in game test switch menu for an off screen setting. None to be found.

One of the menus actually tells me what some of the DIP switches are set too! It only used some of them. I am hoping the others will be what I am looking for... if anyone has what those are for. Or a manual. :)

SWEET!!!!!

Please do the arcade world a favor and scan that goddamn thing when you get some time...

Why would I want to do that? I would ruin the years of posts that link back to years older posts about how the hell to find one and if the last person found one!

For the record, the last guy, responded to me. I think he found one, but has since sold the PCB, so none of it is left. Or he just played with the DIP switches until he was sure what they all did. (But can't find the notes.)

As an update, the manual has nothing on off screen reload.

yeah, i had a feeling this was the case. i never picked up a boardset because of this. if you wanted to get fancy, you could run an extra wire out to the gun, grab a mercury switch and goop it into the butt of the gun at an angle so that when the gun is pointed down, the switch activates and causes a reload. (this is how American Laser Games had their metal guns designed for MadDog McCree and subsequent titles)

i think CarnEvil is the only hybrid out there that has a shotgun pump but will also respond to offscreen reloads.

Locked N Loaded also has this setting. Not that I ever saw it with shot guns (just saw it on the board).

I just uploaded the manual to KLOV for all.

@runawayabc123 I know this thread is really old, but did you ever find out if this game supports off screen reload?
Yeah, after searching high and low and than finally finding a manual (and posting it to VAPS... not sure if it ever posted here), nope. It doesn't.

That being said, Evil Night the squeal is also 3 player, with 1 shot gun and 2 pistols with a power up (aka extra mercury switch you hold on). So, you could put both games in the same cab with either's guns and more or less have it working.

I was just wondering if it was a board I could put in my multi-cabinet with happ guns but looks like it's not possible. I had never heard of it and came across someone selling one on FB and started doing some quick research and came across this thread.

Oh well!

It is pump to reload (not after every shot like real pump guns or buck hunter).

You could do something sneaky like use your start button to reload.

Yeah it looks like it's carnevil style of reloading with the gun pump action.

I don't think it's worth the effort to hack it up like that. It wouldn't feel natural.
