My sit down Crusin USA won't save settings. I have replaced the battery on the pcb twice just to make sure I didn't have a dead battery. Any suggestions on what or where to check?

Looks like no corrosion on the battery holder. At one point it did save settings but the chassis went out and I just got it repaired and now the save issue. The game plays fine when it does the start up check I see no errors. I will run diagnostic and check back. Thanks.

You are suppose to let the game run for 12 hours to charge the battery when you replace it. . If it sets for a month or 2 it will go dead and a hour at a time playing is not enough to charge it back up.

yes it looks like a watch battery. I replaced it with the exact model that was in there working originally.

I know you replaced it before the chassis rebuild, but have you tried replacing it AFTER the chassis rebuild? The new one might have gone dead while you were waiting for the chassis to come back.

And you may need to hook up a keyboard to the computer and do a CMOS Restore in the Setup menu...

is that even possible?

Depends on the system. I can't remember for that particular one, but some of the games actually have a computer motherboard inside (where the battery dies) and they sometimes have a PS2 keyboard connection....
