All of a sudden my Cruis'n USA is doing a factory reset every time I power it on. Thinking it was the battery, I changed it to a new one but its still doing it. Way else could cause this issue?

On one of the ones I used to have had that same thing happen. The battery died and some setting was corrupted. I went into the settings set it to factory defaults saved it, rebooted then went in to make whatever changes I needed to make. I'm guessing some invalid setting needed to be flushed out.

2 other things to check.. Is your battery good, and did you install it the right way?

Thanks very much for the advice, the manual factory reset seems to have worked. We'll see how it acts tomorrow though :)

Yeah I guess I spoke too soon. It still does the reset every morning. It flashes a message saying the "version updated" and it does a factory restore.

Battery is good and everything.

Any other ideas?

As a follow up, I did figure this out. There was corrosion on the battery holder which was well hid in my dark arcade when looking at it with the battery out. It was positioned so when I looked at it with a flashlight, the shadow from the positive battery tab holder thing cast a shadow over completely covering the corrosion. It was really obvious when I saw it that it was the problem. Cleaned it up and it's fine now.
