I have a working Cruis'n USA sitdown cab
(...with 3 extra working USA PCB sets ! )

...and one non-working Exotica PCB .

Ideally I'd love to upgrade my USA cab into an Exotica,
but I've got a few hurdles to jump for that...

1- Get the Exotica fixed.
------------------------
From what I know, I "should" be able to see at least the eprom boot sequence
with only the Jamma adapter connected. But right now I see nothing.
I know I'm getting power, because the power LED is lit.
...but beyond that, nothing. No even a blip on the screen...

Does anyone repair these ? (...for less than the cost to buy a new one ... !?!? )

Any tips as to what to look for ?

2- Convert the USA cab to Exotica
---------------------------------
Assuming I can get the Exotica PCB working,
I still need a few critical parts to convert the USA cab.
Namely the new/updated chip for the driver board.

Ideally , I should have jumped on this..., but missed the auction...

I assume using an Exotica driver board would also work.

Any leads on that would also be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steph

...alternatively, does anyone have any ideas what
a driver board for an Exotica goes for .. ?

(... and why am I getting the sinking feeling that I should just abandon this whole project...)

Thanks,

Abondon reasons?

Parts are still expensive...
Plastics don't match up...

USA to World, pretty easy. Either of those to Exotica....HARD!

Good luck! :)

ahoy, this

hell, I don't know about up in the great white north, but down here, finding complete Exoticas isn't necessarily that expensive at auctions... like, better off buying Exotica itself than trying to upgrade one of the other ones.

I'm starting to see that...

My situation though is that I have a working C-USA,
which all 3 of my kids love ( 4, 6, & 8yrs old ),
but they would positively freak-out with the Dinosaurs in C-Exotica.
(... anybody with boys will understand ! )

I was hoping that the upgrade to Exotica was not too difficult,
but it looks like I had my hopes too high...

Thanks,
Steph
