I'm trying to find a list of all cars for Exotica arcade version - what I'm finding is all about the N64 version or a confusing mix of cars. I'm also not certain if additional car choices were added in the later versions of the arcade ROMs. Does anyone know?

Here's what I've found so far playing around with the cab:

1. All 3 cam buttons pressed together after a credit is inserted will play the credits (it skips the spaceship scene with Bill Clinton).

2. On the course select screen, if you hold the low cam button, it gives you 2 additional hidden track options for Hong Kong (medium) in place of Atlantis (Easy) and Ireland (Hard) in place of Tibet (Hard) which are normally only accessible in Exotica mode.

3. On the car select screen, the low cam button lets you cycle through additional banks of cars. The center cam button cycles through drivers (for cars where the driver is visible). The high cam button changes the color of the car.

Bank 1:
Jeep Wrangler
Plymouth Prowler
Corvette
Hummer

Bank 2:
Funny (Clown Car)
SVT Cobra
Trippy (Hippie Van)
Rust Bucket

Bank 3:
Jetcar 2000 (Martian Car)
Road King (18 Wheeler Cab)
Muscle
Zephyr (Unlockable after 5,000 miles)

The Zephyr is only unlockable if you make a profile with the keypad and rack up 5,000 miles under that profile.

4. During play, the Start button will honk the horn for your car (not sure if this is the same for all vehicles, but I think it is for the arcade version.)

Does anyone else know of any other secrets or unlockables, or if additional cars were added in later versions? It's been so long since I played this in the arcade. I thought there were more, but I might be conflating this with Cruis'n USA or World, or the N64 version of Exotica.

I forget which one had a Humvee, but I think it's on World or USA that if you press the start button during the race it will animate the gun as though it is firing. It has no effect on the cars/scenery but a neat extra.

World. I swore the gun would knock cars out of the way :ROFLMAO:

Was the keypad included with conversion kits, or was it only on dedicated cabinets?

The conversion manual doesn't say anything about it (or at least I didn't see it in there).

That's a great question. I don't know where you would have put the keypad in those cabs, except maybe the coin door. The cables weren't all that long though. I don't think I ever saw one with a keypad that was converted. I wonder how you were supposed to unlock the zephyr.

You can disable the keypad in the adjustments menu. Maybe that also enables the locked car. I'll have to try it and see.

Yeah, I was wondering if it would be worth the hassle of trying to rig something up.

I think having a profile also lets you keep your personalized license plate.

May be an obvious thing, but I noticed in Cruis'n World that the Non-Playing Cars follow the local traffic laws (London on the left, etc).

It helps to do the same on those levels.

I should fire up the Exotica to see about some of this stuff.
Of course mine is in a World cabinet so same issue others see with no keypad but I am curious about the regionality to driving behaviour bit!
