Just got this board in from a fellow KLOVer, and the game plays great but after awhile the game will reboot, and or the game graphics will get scrambled near the finish line. Any pointers would be helpful.

I was working on one of these last night. Same issue, seems heat related. Game runs normally for 20 minutes then starts re-booting. The longer it runs the more frequently it reboots. I upped the voltage, no change. I cooled the chips, no change. Swapped power supply, no change. Cleaned edge connector, no change. Re-seated chips, no change. Flexed board, no change.

When I have a problem that appears after a game "warms up", I use the canned air freezing method. Get a can of air with a straw, wait for the game to act up, then hold the can upside down (just like the label tells you NOT to do :D ) and hit a suspect IC with the freezing blast. If that makes it behave for a while, the IC you hit is overheating or just plain bad.

Check voltages... I found on my Rush The Rock when it was doing the same thing that there was some severe voltage loss at the connector... I replaced the pins in the connector and all is well.

Like I said before, I tried to cool the chips but the behavior didn't change.

Voltage is the first thing I would suspect but the voltage was dead on at 5.0 measured AT THE BOARD. I went ahead and upped it to 5.2. The game has been at this location for two years without problems. I am guessing a flaky chip at this point.....

FWIW... I would fire up my cab... it would measure fine at a chip... i would play... it would reset... I would immediately check and the voltage would be low. I'd pull connectors, re-seat, measure, fine... after a couple minutes... reset... check... and they are low.

I am way ahead of you. I tried that as well. I also monitored power at the outlet to make sure I wasn't getting spikes or drops at the line voltage.
