I have 2 Cruisn Exotica sit down cabinets that work perfectly when they are not linked. But when I connect the 2 cabinets with a firmware, one (the one that shows master) constantly reboots. When it does actually get to the game, both machines seem to lag and freeze periodically. Any thoughts on what is going on here?

Also, I have tested the power to the board as 5.15v

Yes. They are both running version 2.4. The one that keeps rebooting does not have a chip in u20 or u21. Would that have any effect on linking?

i dont know if this would be of any help, but on the atari/midways seattle boards, they were rated at 150mhz for vapor trx and I think carnevil. Other seattle games, the boards were rated lower.

those missing chips are probably the reason. I would have to ask my operator buddy if he remembers for exotica.

also maybe you have a bad or too long of a linking cable?

Doesn't run on Seattle. Exotica runs on a system known as Zeus II.

And +1 to show a pic of both boards.

I meant it as an example of a family of boards having slight differences. Maybe someone converted a grid board to exotica. But considering Zeus 2, is just 2 games(I thought it was zeus and mk4 and invasion were in the family), it's not likely as many variant boards as seattle.

That part of the game software can be either on 4 chips or 2 chips, and there is a dip switch to tell the game how that is configured. If those two chips do not show up in red on the self-test, it is configured correctly.

Dip switch 1-5, maybe? Check the dip switch test in diagnostics.
