I noticed last night that when I hit the "walls" on Cruis'n Exotica, there is no force feedback effect. Is that normal? I mean force feedback is working for turning, etc... but no "bump" when I hit a wall.

I had a conversion and a dedicated and this is the main reason i sold them is because there is no force feedback, only resistance to the wheel. I figured if eventually you can just play it in mame without the force feedback. It has to have the rush jerk of the wheel to stay in my arcade as a driver.

I remember someone saying this was true for Cruis'n USA as well. I have a USA machine, and when cars bump me I get a "bump" response from the wheel/motor. It also gives feedback when I drift from the main road onto the side. Not sure about walls, would have to try that.

Well Frizz, if you stay off the walls like your supposed to, you wouldn't even notice. :D

I actually really didn't notice until I was attempting to measure the power consumption of the cab. With Cart Fury I would speed up toward a corner, jump off and go look at the Kill A Watt device for when it hit the wall causing the wheel to jerk to measure power spikes.

That didn't happen with Exotica... now it's likely going to stand out for me.

:(

I will go play a game in a few minutes to determine if bumping cars gives feedback for me.

Sorry it took so long...

My game provides resistance to corners ... and "menu selection" feedback ONLY. I get no feedback when hitting other vehicles. I get no feedback when hitting objects. I get no feedback when hitting the "walls" of the course.

I find this to be a somewhat odd choice...

I stand corrected... there ARE some VERY SUBTLE (even with the strength set to 10) "environment" effects felt... like going up a curb ... but the effect is VERY subtle...

I noticed this when I upgraded my two Worlds to Exoticas. The Worlds definitely had feedback when you hit cars and walls.

Exotica does not, and behaves just as you describe it.

Can anyone say "FOR SURE" this is how it was stock out the door ... or perhaps there is some other issue that could be repaired?

Now that I've noticed the issue, it stands out like a sore thumb for me...

Did you read my original reply? I've owned 2 conversions and a dedicated.

I did read it... but since there actually IS some force feedback (like I said, there is a subtle jerk when you hit a curb, and a subtle tug when you go from one surface to another.... very subtle... but there...)... I felt the question was worth asking.

Now on to another question. My keypad hasn't worked since I got the game up and running. I figured it was disconnected or something. Last night I checked it out and it is surely connected at the dash and at the P3/P4 connectors on the PCB. The PCB is set to ENABLE the keypad, yet... I get nothing. No indication the keypad is working in the diagnostics even.

Do these pads just "die" or is it more likely an issue with the boardset or something in between?

What exactly does not having the keypad prevent me from doing? I read about some options that become available when you type 129 in the keypad... not sure what they are though?!

No, nothing you can do about the lack of feedback, i've played dedicated in arcades also and it just wasn't built into the game. Not sure about your keypad.

Have you tried setting the the coin option to needing credits? Take it off of free play and see if it works. Rush 2049's keypad does not work properly when on free play.

Yes... I took it off freeplay. There is nothing showing in the diagnostics either when testing keypad.
