Hi! I was hoping get some help. Recently my CRT monitor died and I was looking to replace it with an LCD TV. I know many look down upon this method, and I fully understand why, but right now, I lack the resources to replace/repair the CRT, so in the meantime, I figure I will use this 'band-aid' solution.
Anyway, I purchased this board off ebay.

Naturally, it didn't come with any instructions, I asked the seller for more info, but he was unable to provide any assistance. I found a site that kind of explains what I have to do, but it doesn't really go into great detail on how to do it.
The board came with these wires:

I figured I would have to splice the VGA Wires

I cut the above from the Jamma wiring and spliced some of it to the "Links To" photo above.

The Easy Part - I was able to match the Red, Green, Blue and Ground (White+Black) wires with the help of the Jamma connector. It had a chart/diagram labeled on it, it was just a matter of following the colors.
The Hard Part - I have 2 extra colored wires, the silver and Yellow. According to the Jamma boards website, I know that these are the V Sync and H Sync, however I've looked all over the board (and checked the diagram), there are no wires on the Jamma harness that have this attribute. There are some connected on the actual monitor, but that's independent of the Jamma wiring (and correct me if I'm wrong), therefore shouldn't be considered? There is a single wire that says SYNC, but that doesn't really cover what I am looking for, right?

Problem 1: I have the RGB+Ground connected, I tried to test it, but it wouldn't work. LCD reported no signal (which I expected). I don't know what to do at this point. Has anyone performed a successful conversion? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Problem 2: The Red + Black wire, it says to connect this to my power source. That doesn't really tell me anything. Does it mean splice it into the Power supply? If so, where? The wire thickness is totally different from the power supply wires. I'm afraid if I do this, something bad will happen. Theres a Black and White wire that connects to the monitor (I think it's the isolation wire)…I wanted to try to tap into that, but something tells me to avoid that at all costs…
I'm clearly over my head here and in need of some help. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks you in advance!

Do you have the ebay link? The name of the product would help a lot.

Connect both V and H Sync wires to the Sync wire. The Red wire goes to the +5 on your power supply, the Black wire to Ground.

That should get you power to the board and a signal on your monitor. Once your to that point it's a matter of some simple adjustments on the on screen menu.

If pictures seems to start washing out or doesn't look right adjust the "Clamp st" to 03 and "Clamp sp" to 04. Or play around with it a bit but make sure Clamp sp is always higher then Clamp st.

Another hint

The converter may come up in Chinese, is so there is a menu option for english. The converter has a pretty versitile adjustment menu, I have had pretty good luck with these. There are some tutorials on Youtube as well.

The GRAY wire is your Sync. Yellow is not needed. The others are the same color (RGB,Ground/Black). Red - Red, Green - Green, Blue - Blue, Black - White/Black, Gray - White. Those are the connections. Then plug that connector in and your video is hooked up. Then splice the Red wire onto the +5vdc from the Jamma harness and the Black wire to the grounds.

That's about it. Your RGB pots are almost guaranteed to be off, so you will need to adjust them and to adjust the image, output size, contrast...etc, there a button that says "Menu." When you press it, unless someone else has changed it already, the default language is Chinese. Report back if it is and I'll tell you how to change it to English if you can't figure it out.

In the mean time, this shoddy setup might help...

There is also a button marked "SW." That is the button to switch between what input the converter is looking for. If you get all the above set up and you still have no signal, press that "SW" button to cycle through the inputs. It may be set to the component input from the last user.

Ok so I got the card installed and it appears to be functioning. The colors of the game are off. The background is mostly all white. I tried messing around withthe settings but nothing I do appears to work. Any ideas?

You need to adjust the RGB pots just in front of the CGA connection on your converter.
